At Notoya, we use water from our own source for all of our hot-spring facilities.
We do not offer daytime use only.
Overnight guests are free to use the baths whenever they please,
from the time they check in to the time they check out.
Our hot spring has been in operation since 1302.
The water has been welling up continuously for 709 years from a spring that is five meters underground.
In order to preserve properties such as benefits for the skin, we do not add any other water.
Please take the time to fully enjoy this 100% hotspring water in our large baths and open-air baths.

Kaga Awazu Hot Spring is a sulphur spring with water that contains hydrogen sulphide gas.
Since it enlarges the capillaries and softens the skin’s keratin, people who bathe in it are said to become more attractive and recover from fatigue.

Throughout the generations there have been "hotspring guardians," who were very knowledgeable about Notoya’s hot-spring water. They have controlled the temperature of the ceaselessly welling up spring water that is supplied to the baths and guest rooms. In order for our guests to be able to enjoy the hot-spring water as is, with no added water, they skillfully adjust the water temperature to keep it uniform, as it can vary according to the season and the weather. This is why our guests can enjoy 100% hot-spring water everywhere in our facility.
